Synergo targets equity investments of €20 to €50 million.
Synergo invests in mid-market companies managed by experienced entrepreneurs who need financial and strategic assistance to grow their businesses. Prospective portfolio companies may also be entities sold by a financial or industrial group, but only if the acquisition is led by a management team with entrepreneurial skills, knowledge of the relevant industry, a solid track record and strong ethical standards.
There is no sector focus, but preference will be given to companies with a strong management team or entrepreneur at the helm, good cash flow, international expansion focus and sustainable competitive advantages.
The target companies will generally meet the following criteria:
- entrepreneur strongly motivated to grow (even at the expense of majority control), energetic, honest
- unexploited business opportunity nationally and internationally (expansion, M&A, relocation, outsourcing)
- roll-ups/industry consolidation
- business model transferable to other countries
- ability to generate sustainable earnings and cash flows
Synergo typically seeks to take majority or significant minority stakes in the companies selected for investment. Since our investment strategy builds on trust, personal relationship and collaboration with the entrepreneur, we usually don't participate in auction processes.
Our investment horizon for each target company is typically medium to long-term.
Synergo does not pursue deals involving startups, small companies, turnaround efforts or regulated industries.
