Agostino Ascani has been collaborating with Synergo since 2018.
Previously, he served as Executive Chairman and CEO of Canados International S.r.l., a motor yacht manufacturing company, where he led the financial and operational restructuring of the business.
Previous experience includes: Balmoral Capital (€120 million invested), DLJ Merchant Banking Partners, Credit Suisse First Boston Private Equity (more than €700 million of equity investments), Barclays De Zoete Wedd, and the Ultrapolis Group.
Agostino holds a degree from Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali (L.U.I.S.S.) of Rome.
Alessandro Azais has been collaborating with Synergo since 2014, and has been board member of Building Energy since 2016.
He currently serves as advisor, board member and/or executive on several companies, among which: Balich Worldwide Shows, Tipografia Mori S.r.l., Cybernetto Handels GmbH.
Previous experience includes, amongst others: Archivi Italiani S.p.A., Doc Data Italy S.r.l., Goodwill J.s.c, Vita S.p.A. (Valvitalia), and Kinetika Holding S.p.A..
Alessandro holds a degree from Università Statale of Milan.
Phil Cuneo founded Synergo in 2004 and serves as Chairman of the Firm and of the Investment Committee.
One of Italy’s most distinguished businessmen and entrepreneurs, Phil Cuneo has started and built several successful businesses. In the early 1970s he was associated with the Italian office of McKinsey & Company since its inception and eventually became its Managing Director. In 1989, he founded Bain-Cuneo e Associati, one of the largest top management consulting companies in Italy. In the early 1990s he co-founded Investitori Associati, one of the most successful private equity firms in Italy. Since 2004, Phil has been solely focused on Synergo’s investment activities.
Phil graduated in Business Administration (summa cum laude) from Genoa University and holds an M.B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh.
Roberto Liguori joined Synergo in 2014 as a Board Member.
He has founded Italian Mezzanine, the first mezzanine finance investment company based in Italy, deploying approximately Eur 100 million across Europe.
Previous experience includes: BancBoston Capital, CIBC World Markets, and Barclays De Zoete Wedd.
Roberto graduated from Bocconi University in Milan also attending the New York University (Stern).
Francesca Rena joined Synergo in 2015. Prior to that, Francesca worked for three years in the Corporate Finance team of J.P. Morgan in Milan and Paris where she was involved in a number of national and cross-border transactions. Before joining J.P. Morgan, Francesca briefly worked in Paris for Hawkpoint, an M&A boutique firm.
Francesca holds a Diplôme Grande Ecole from ESCP Europe, a M.Sc. in Management from London City University, and a M.Sc. in Business Administration (summa cum laude) from University of Turin.
